ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WeTheCitizens, creator of
the Wildfire Social Mobilization Platform, announced today that it has
raised $1.5 million in its fourth round of investor financing.
WeTheCitizens, founded in 2005, has now raised more than $3 million in
total investor financing. All monies raised have come from individual
sources, including prominent members of the Atlanta business and
technology communities. WeTheCitizens’
Wildfire platform, officially launched in July 2008, drives real-world
action through online networks, helping volunteers and/or donors to
collectively self-organize in support of cause-oriented organizations.
“Our ability to raise $3 million can be
attributed to the Wildfire’s strong business
case and the quality of the platform’s
development,” said Caleb Clark, CEO of
WeTheCitizens. “Every day we are speaking with
cause-oriented organizations seeking to leverage the power of social
networks to communicate with, mobilize and track the actions of their
supporters. As more and more people look to the Internet as the
preferred means of interacting with the organizations they support, the
value that Wildfire provides will continue to grow.”
Wildfire mobilizes volunteers and/or donors of non-profit, political and
other cause-oriented organizations with proprietary Custom Actions,
tasks that are pre-set, based on the needs of the organization.
Additionally, Wildfire provides the resources necessary to complete each
Custom Action. Custom Actions are assigned to supporters based on their
preferences for assisting the organization. The platform’s
patent-pending Personal Impact Engine then quantifies each completed
Custom Action – ranking an individual’s
personal impact relative to other supporters.
