Wilson Wong, managing director at Condition Zebra explains why events such as ZebraCON are important to businesses picking out some of the points the conference strives to cover, ?Information is the lifeblood of organizations and IT security plays a vital role in protecting the assets. Most data breaches happen within the firewall, and with the growing adoption of mobile computing and rising cyber-crimes, organizations must view IT security risk management as a priority and central strategic business objective.?

?Many organizations are still downplaying the role of IT security in risk management. This can be seen especially with local industry, where corporates today tend to possess the ?wait-and-see? attitude and overlook what might strike them. One attack is enough to kill a business. So organizations should take security seriously and understand what are the cost and consequences it may bring for being ignorant,? adds Wong.

Tim Gibbon, cofounder and editor at SMP comments, ?In two recent SMP profiled interviews with Conditions Zebra?s Drew Williams and Wilson Wong, we gained more insight on the threats and challenges that businesses face, not only with social media, but a number of different issues.  It was evident that even with the growing impact of global high profile breaches being reported more regularly, businesses can drop the ball when addressing the role that IT security plays in the daily aspects of making operations run effectively throughout their workforce.?

?Both condition Zebra?s experts shared more about their expectations of the conference, what delegates should be looking forward to and how they can then implement what they learn into their own organisations,? continued Gibbon.
