Familybuilder, a New York based software company has today announced the launch of their family tree building application on Bebo and already has over 10,000 users.
The ?Family Tree? application launched on popular
social utility Facebook in June of last year, and has so far surpassed 7 million subscribers, with the company expecting to reach 8 million within the next one to two months.
In conjuction with the
Bebo launch, Familybuilder has also secured $1.5 million USD in series A funding, with investment led by London based
DN Capital. Steve Schlenker, partner at DN Capital will also join the Familybuilder board of directors.
The injection of cash will enable Familybuilder to launch on other social networking sites and improve existing services to current application users.
Schlenker has high hopes for the venture stating, ?When people see some of the services Familybuilder will be rolling out over the next 3-6 months we are convinced that this team and company will change an industry."
At the time of writing, the Family Tree Facebook application had a user-rating of just 2.8 out of 5.
