BlogHer and Cooking.com Announce E-Commerce Partnership in Anticipation of Inaugural BlogHer Food Conference

Leading Women’s Network Celebrates Food Blogging Community with Co-Branded Shop Offering Food, Kitchenware and Editorial Content; Affiliate Program to Offer Commission on Referral Transactions

Blogher logoSAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BlogHer, the leading participatory news, entertainment and information network for women online, today announced a new partnership with Cooking.com to create the first-ever BlogHer-branded shop featuring superior food and kitchen products, setting the stage for the sold-out BlogHer Food ’09.

“We’re thrilled to work with Cooking.com to create a place where food lovers will have an opportunity to enjoy best-of-breed editorial content, found only on the BlogHer Network, and first-class cooking and kitchen products, found only on Cooking.com,” said Lisa Stone, co-founder and CEO of BlogHer Inc. “This new relationship will give the millions of women in the BlogHer Network access to the food information they want and the cooking products they love, in support of industry-leading bloggers.”

The BlogHer-branded Cooking.com shop will highlight popular recipes and editorial content from some of the BlogHer Network’s 200 best-of-breed food blogs, as well as regular newsletters to keep members up to date on promotions and deals from Cooking.com. The partnership, designed as a benefit exclusively for bloggers who are members of BlogHer's Network, creates a referral-based affiliate program where Cooking.com sales earn bloggers revenue from a clean, well-lighted store.

“Cooking.com is honored to partner with BlogHer and its passionate network of food bloggers,” said Tracy Randall, founder and CEO of Cooking.com. “We are also thrilled to bring exciting new kitchenware products, content and services to an expanded community of foodies through our relationship with BlogHer.”

The Cooking.com partnership expands BlogHer’s commitment to giving food bloggers and their readers a place to engage and interact with content and products of the highest quality, online and off. This announcement comes two days before the launch of BlogHer’s inaugural food conference, BlogHer Food ’09, a topic-focused event that will bring together food bloggers from every walk of life, to learn, share best practices, blog, meet and eat, on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco.
