Zuckerberg's Pre-Facebook Project StreetFax.com Up For Auction on Flippa Website Marketplace
MELBOURNE, Australia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--StreetFax.com was today listed for sale at the Flippa.com website marketplace.

The domain has recently gained worldwide attention as the website that Paul Ceglia contracted Mark Zuckerberg to work on while at Harvard, allegedly some months before Zuckerberg started work on the site which was to become Facebook. Legal proceedings are currently underway on Ceglia?s behalf, as he claims that Zuckerberg signed over ownership of TheFacebook.com as part of the agreement to work on StreetFax.
In the Flippa listing, the seller of the domain makes further claims:
?Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg was hired and worked on this site while he went to school at Harvard. Also, it is believed that the StreetFax.com code helped power Facebook?s original search features.?
It?s not immediately clear where this second statement comes from and Flippa CEO Dave Slutzkin declined to stand behind it. ?We have no specific information about the seller?s claims and we always advise buyers to do their own extensive due diligence. Slutzkin also speculates that the auction could fetch thousands of dollars for the owner. ?We saw a $30,000 sale on Flippa last year for Facemash.com, another domain from Zuckerberg?s early days,? he says, ?It?s hard to know how the market values this unique piece of Internet history.?
The sale of FaceMash.com coincided with the release of the blockbuster film The Social Network. It remains to be seen whether StreetFax.com will sell for a similar price. The auction is underway at https://flippa.com/2620874 with the seller currently waiting on a starting bid of $5,000.
