SendThisFile Breakthrough Allows Users to Send Large Files Over 2 Gigabytes Without Extra Software
Wichita, KS --- SendThisFile, Inc., a Kansas based
Managed Internet File Transfer Company, is relaunchingit's service with a
powerful, feature-laden beta.
After weeks of internal testing, the
SendThisFile development team launched the new beta version of it's website to
paid customers. Founder and CEO, Aaron Freeman, envisioned the beta as a way to
improve large file sending without special desktop software, "The goal of the
beta was to break through the browser's two gigabyte file size limit, and we
were able to achieve that thanks to Java."
The development team relied
on Java to enable the improvements. Java is a programing language that runs on
many different computer operating systems and comes pre-installed on most
computers. With Java enabled, SendThisFile customers only need to allow a Java
applet to run within the browser, eliminating the need to download or update
special desktop application software.
With the new beta enabled,
SendThisFile customers will experience powerful new features. Customers can now
send large files over two gigabytes, a
size limitation that exists within todays web browsers. "It's a game changer,"
said Scott Sexton, VP of Business Development. "No other managed file transfer
service allows customers to send large files of over two gigabytes from inside
the browser. What makes us unique is that our competitors require you to
download a special app for every OS, and then you have to maintain the latest
version. We eliminated that."
The beta introduces features that are often
unavailable in other browser-based managed file transfer service providers.
Customers who
send large files can now
resume interrupted file transfers. Previously, intermittent Wi-fi connections
and power-save modes were common culprits that could interrupt a browser's file
transfer, requiring a restart of the entire process. Re-starting the transfer
process can cost hours of time. With an internet connection re-established, the
beta resumes transferring data from the last bit sent. The beta will also
automatically detect and compress multiple files and folders into a .zip file,
which reduces the files size and simplifies sharing.
SendThisFile is
currently offering the beta to existing paid customers and those on a 15-day
trial. Users can access the beta by signing into their account and enabling the
beta on the "Send Files" page.
