Social Madness contest



Social Madness is a one-of-a-kind corporate media challenge that measures the growth of a company's social presence.

Social Madness logoLeverage your social influence and vote for your favorite local businesses on The Business Journals' Social Madness pages. In conjunction with Spark Business from Capital One.

Companies will compete in 43 U.S. cities, with local winners squaring off in a national challenge.  Three overall champions get the right to designate a $10,000 donation to the charity of their choice.

Social Madness is a bracket-style, tournament challenge in which companies compete against others of similar size. Participants will be ranked based on a scoring algorithm that measures social influence. The algorithm will track votes on bizjournals.com, LinkedIn connections, Facebook activity and Twitter followers during the challenge period.

The nomination period ended May 15

Voting through the phases:

Phase 1: Local Open Competition: 6/1-6/18
Phase 2: Local Bracket Competition: 6/19-7/16
Phase 3: National Bracket Competition: 7/24-9/10

National winners will be announced on September 11th 2012
