The Asylum and Immigration News has announced a new social networking site aimed at immigrants from the USA, UK, EU, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
The new website,
Asylumnews.org connects migrants so that they can share their stories, give and receive advice and discuss issues relating to immigration.
Users will also be able share content (from video, audio and photographs to ebooks, whitepapers and reports), in addition to creating their own groups, contributing to a discussion board and publishing their own blogs.
The site's founder, Edgar Chibka explains why he feels his site will stand out from the crowd. "The Asylumnews.org social media platform provides a compelling mechanism for connecting a geographically dispersed asylum seeker and migrant communities. We believe in the idea of targeted social networks where users can interact with others who truly share common interests and experiences, not simply being part of an online community."
Aylumnews members are encouraged to write and submit news articles that will be professionally edited and communicated through the site.
