Piczo, the popular social networking site for teens is
expanding their service to allow users to share and create content on their mobile phones.
The new development was made possible through a partnership with mobile social networking company Intercasting Corporation. Through Intercasting?s ANTHEM platform, Piczo will offer users the ability to upload images directly from their camera phones, send and receive messages and post comments to their Piczo pages. The mobile and online sites will be fully integrated.
Chris Seth, Piczo's managing director for Europe, ?Piczo is creating a service that taps into the habits of the Piczo generation who want to be in control of their content and communication in a safer environment, and at the same time extending self-expression onto the devices that matter most to them in their lives.?
According to Jupiter Research, more than 50% of 13-to-17-year-olds are engaging in mobile social networking, with revenues expected to reach $2.8b by 2012.
Piczo's target audience are 13 to 18 year olds, and have over 10 million unique visitors monthly.
