Rachel Hawkes (Social Media Portal) - 24 January 2008

Bands, artists and DJs can now promote their music with a personal touch; thanks to a new embeddable OUTSHOUTS widget for popular social networking site MySpace.

OUTSHOUTS allows music artists to take individual songs and record a personalised introduction.  They can then add their songs to the OUTSHOUTS widget, and embed it on their MySpace profile to share with fans.

Through the widget, artists can add their songs as a 60 second sample or the full version, with the album cover displayed once a track starts playing.

OUTSHOUTS founder Michelle Soleau says, "Everybody wants to hear from the band.  The music just means more when you have some context there, and adding a voice recording to preface the music you?re about to hear gives that song a whole new dimension.

Each song will link through to either iTunes or Amazon so fans can purchase the artists music.
