Video sharing site Dailymotion has
announced the addition of three new video advertising options for advertisers and marketers.
The new in-video add formats include:
- Toaster Ad: animated flash overlay that appears on the bottom portion of a video and disappears after 10 seconds
- Home Theater Ad: ad unit that 'wraps around' the video and provides a clickable URL
- Companion Logo Ad: dynamic logo that appears 10 seconds into the video and disappears 10 seconds later
Frederic Bellier, senior vice president of global media sales at Dailymotion believes that providing multiple advertising solutions in-house will allow them to better service the individual needs advertisers. Dailymotion took their advertising in-house in July 2007. He comments, "We?ve remained ad platform agnostic in order to provide an array of approaches that can be catered to the specific needs of each advertiser. Our full suite of solutions gives marketers the greatest opportunity to select the best choice for each campaign. This better enables them to achieve the maximum impact and the highest investment return.?
The announcement by Dailymotion comes on the same day that video ad network
VideoEgg announces partnerships with
Dailymotion direct competitor
MetaCafe, in addition to
imeem,
Bebo,
hi5 and Buzznetworks.
In the press release issued today, Dailymotion also mention a new HD
advertising product aimed at marketers in the entertainment sector. In excess of 15,000 videos are uploaded to popular user-generated-content (UGC) site every day.
