In a series of interviews on ?
video encyclopedia? VideoJug,
William Shatner,
famous for his roles such as Captain Kirk on Star Trek and Boston
Legal?s Denny Crane, says young celebrities like Britney Spears and
Lindsay Lohan weren?t taught discipline.
In an interview on the subject
of fame, VideoJug asks wha
t the problem with
Spears and Lohan
is, Shatner says, ?Discipline. They never had it, they were never
given it. They were never taught that you?ve got your freedom but
there?s a ying and yang in everything. Yeah, be free and wild - that?s
great - but then there?s a little box of discipline ? you?ve got to
have that so when you?re free you?re still disciplined. They never had
that, were (never) shown that, or taught that nor have it in their
genes. Or maybe they do, and they will get it later ? they?re very
young.?
In addition to expressing his thoughts on Hollywood?s
troubled young stars, Shatner opens up on his opinions regarding
everything from
parenting, to fame,
education, work-life balance and how he got into
hip-hop. He also confesses that Paramount agreed to his writing so many
Star Trek books (10 in all) because they needed him for other public relations activity.
Other
celebrities
featuring on VideoJug include Roseanne Barr, Sir Patrick Moore and
Stephen Fry. William Shatner?s interviews went live on the site
