BMW Sauber's new Formula 1 test driver,
Marko Asmer has announced the upgrade of his official website.
Estonian born and based Asmer was announced as an
official test driver for the
BMW Sauber F1 team last week, where he joins a driving quartet including Germ
an Nick Heidfeld, Polish Robert Kubica and Austrian Christian Klien.
The upgrade of
MarkoAsmer.com sees the 23 year old driver introduce social media functionality to connect with fans, including a discussion board and blog.
Siim Vips, chief executive officer at
Modera, the company behind the website says that interaction with fans on a personal level is important to Asmer.
Modera will implement the use of rich internet applications (RIAs) for intuitive user experience. ?This will have a huge impact on the front-end with continual updates of fresh content including input from Marko himself. Exciting new updates include facilities for a fan forum, blog and videos which can be managed by Marko and his management team,? concludes Vips.
MarkoAsmer.com is one of the only official websites for Formula 1 drivers that has so far embraced social media technology to better connect with fans.
