Internet solutions company Internap have partnered with SmacChat,
a social networking for sports
fans. Internap will integrate their Content
Delivery Network (CDN) to provide SmacChat with a constant flow of rich media
content such as video highlights and replays of games that are both visually
impressive and technically reliable.
Brian Moncure, founder of
SmacChat.com comments on the partnership, ?As a result of Internap?s comprehensive
CDN solutions and know-how, SmacChat.com can continue to grow its community and
provide additional features members want.?
With Internap?s technology,
the online sports community will have the ability to stream online video, such
as highlights and clips of different sports games. The inclusion of ad services also provides an
additional source of revenue for the site.
The technology provided by
Internap is scalable and will grow with peaks of traffic coming to the site,
such as during major sporting events which often sees SmacChat?s 112,000 daily
visitors surge three-fold. Tim Sullivan,
chief technology officer for Internap comments,?Our CDN solutions enable
Web-based companies to focus on building their businesses and increasing their
bottom lines, without worrying about spikes in traffic or network downtime.?
Features
on SmacChat include live chat rooms for major athletic events,
sports blogs enabling real-time exchanges on the hottest games, up-to-the
minute score-boards and betting lines.
