Facebook's founder and chief executive officer, Mark Zuckerberg has announced on the company's
official blog that the social network has now reached 100 million users.
Zuckerberg comments that this is a 'big milestone' and a really gratifying moment as it reassures the Facebook team that it is a trusted place to network with friends.
He comments, "We spend all our time here trying to build the best possible product that ena
bles you to share and stay connected, so the fact that we're growing so quickly all over the world is very rewarding. Thanks for all your support and stay tuned for more great things in the future."
In July 2008, Facebook began rolling out it's
re-designed profile pages after making a number of changes in the months prior to give users greater control of their profiles. These changes followed user criticism about pages becoming cluttered and unusable under the number of applications.
At the time, Zuckerberg commented, "We?ve made the changes rolling out today in order to highlight the most recent and relevant information that users value, give users even more control and ownership over their profiles and simplify the user experience.?
