Design agency on-IDLE launch new Music of Black Origin (MOBO) blog ahead of MOBO Awards 2008
The UK?s
Music of Black Origin (MOBO) soft launched its new blog ahead of its thirteenth MOBO Awards ceremony tonight, 15 October 2008.
The blog, which was built by London design agency
on-IDLE, will serve as a source of information on black music within the UK. It will also act as a temporary place holder whilst MOBO build and develop a new digitally embraced website next year that will be more relevant to the target audience.
Henk Elzenga, director at MOBO says, ?The old MOBO site no longer re
flected the MOBO brand and information needs. on-IDLE has been tasked to develop our blog and new interface design from where new elements can be added over time according to a digital roadmap for the MOBO brand.?
Also featuring alongside the blog is an image gallery, run in partnership with Sony Ericsson, that hosts photographs from past and current MOBO Awards shows.
MOBO?s Tom le Bree, editor-in-chief at MOBO Magazine says that the website re-launch will focus on community and sharing and better communicate with MOBO?s audience all year round, rather than just at Awards time. He goes on to say, ?We recognise our fans do not just disappear after the show only to return the next year. The site will host the latest music information including music and behind the scenes stuff from the show as well as information about our community work. The first stage of this development is the blog and gallery."
The blog contains an archive of previous MOBO Magazine features and will be used to keep MOBO fans up-to-date with news and reviews in addition to catering for social bookmarking and rich media. ?Blog entries are categorised and tagged to ensure the user can access related content easily and they will also be able to leave comments on blog entries,? concludes le Bree.
