Popular local search service Yelp has
launched in the United Kingdom. The launch will allow UK searchers to read and write reviews about local businesses and share opinions with the Yelp community.

UK small businesses will be able create their own profiles in order to engage with potential and new customers and peers. Yelp are confident of the success of the UK version with their affirmation that over 100,000 UK visitors have visited Yelp.com in the past month.

Yelp UK will compete with established local search and business directories in the UK such as Yell, BT Trading Spaces and Bview.
