Mogulus re-brand as Livestream in preparation of a boom in live video streaming
Popular live video broadcasting service Mogulus has
announced its changed its name to ?Livestream? in order to better communicate its position in the market.
Whilst pointing out that the service has more than 30,000 users and is, ?Doing for live streaming what YouTube did for video? says Max Hoat, co-founder
and chief executive officer says, ?While we didn?t invent live streaming, we?re removing the barriers ? making live video production streaming easy and affordable for anybody to use and experience.?
Livestream feels that the re-brand will increase its position as the leader in live video streaming, which Hoat says is set to become the next big area for growth on what is fast becoming the ?real time web.? Hoat comments, ?Consider how the demand for connecting communities and information has grown in real time on the internet through simple services like Twitter. It?s easy to see that live video streaming is well positioned to become a key force in moving us toward richer, more immersive content experiences and communication.?
In related news, the company announced that its Pro service has seen over 1,000 producers and media companies sign up since its launch five months ago, including
World Economic Forum, C-Span and USA Today.
The re-brand comes just days after the two year old company
partnered with video advertising network Adap.tv to offer increased monetisation for its Pro users. By setting up an account at Adap.tv, content owners can configure their advertising through the Livestream control panel, selecting to insert both pre-roll and overlay ads into their video.
