Gigya and Acquia unveil Socialize for sites using Drupal?s CMS

Website owners to integrate with social platforms including Twitter, Facebook, MySpace with Gigya Socialize Drupal module

Social technology company Gigya has teamed up with content management system (CMS) provider Drupal to provide social plug-ins for Drupal powered websites.

Gigya has unveiled ?Socialize,? a module developed in conjunction with Drupal?s social publishing system Acquia.  Socialize enables site owners socialise their websites through major social networking tools including Facebook Connect, MySpaceID, Twitter and OpenID providers such as Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and AOL Mail.  According to Gigya, sites that have enabled Socialize have seen site registrations increase by more than 30 per cent.

President and co-founder of Gigya, Rooly Eliezerov comments, ?The Gigya Socialize Drupal module is a perfect complement to Drupal?s social publishing features.  The module makes it easy for any site built on Drupal to add powerful social features, including pushing content and user activity out beyond the site and into social networks, driving interactivity and viral promotion.?

The Gigya Socialize Drupal module can be installed by website owners in minutes with no programming and is available to all Drupal customers at no cost.  Sites using the module can encourage their users to login using their social ID and integrate their user profile, invite friends to the website and share content on the site.  Gigya and Drupal anticipate it to increase site traffic by increasing the viral potential of each website, including users being able to send status updates to their social networking profiles such as Facebook, and tweet if they have logged in with their Twitter ID.
