WhosHere social networking iPhone and iPad App to support several new languages

Localisation iPhone and iPad application WhosHere has announced that the rollout of its social networking App in several languages; Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.

The application, which first launched in July 2008, saw rapid growth in its first months ? spreading organically throughout 150 countries.  myRete, the company behind WhosHere, has also announced additional language support for Arabic, German, Italian and Portuguese will be added in 2011.

Chief executive officer of myRete comments, ?The user growth we have been seen overseas has been staggering especially considering the size of some of the markets.  This is reflected, for example, in WhosHere being among the top apps in the entire Korean App store.?

WhosHere sits in Apple?s App Store under the ?Social Networking? category, and enables users to meet new people and interact with them based on their physical location.  Users can send each other free text and image messages as well as making VoIP (voice over internet protocol) calls.  Their personal data is completely protected, unless and until they choose to share it with their new contact.

myRete boasts it is the 16th most popular application in its category in the Korean App store, in the top 100 of the entire Korean store and in the top 50 of the social networking category in the United States.

The company says that WhosHere customers find the following uses for the application, ?dating, making new friends, chit chatting with like minded people, looking for jobs, selling stuff, looking for clients, promoting bands, practicing foreign languages skills with native speakers and virtual tourism.?
