The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation in brand push ahead of World Kindness Week
World Kindness Week, which runs from 08-13 November 2010 sees The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation (RAK) unveil its
new social media powered website.
From today, visitors to
randomactsofkindness.org are able to create a profile (either directly through the site or via Facebook Connect), submit and vote on their favourite kindness activities and ideas, create and participate in groups, start their own blog and share their content easily via Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
Marilyn Decalo, manager of The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation comments, ?The site is about kindness and random acts of kindness that make sense and make a difference in the lives of all sorts of people around the world. From simple ideas to expansive activities that can take place at home, in the classroom, on the street or anywhere else you choose,
randomactsofkindness.org exists as a resource to help us learn new ways to relate when kindness is applied.?
The new website ? which it says is no longer about the foundation, but rather about the community of people doing kind acts, took six months to build and offers expanded ?kindness resources.? It is encouraging members of the site to upload their own stories of kindness, which will be equally as important as the tips and experiences the foundation offers.
In addition to the new community focused website, RAK has created the
?World Kindness Games?, which it is describing as, ?A free week-long international competition where players literally get points by being kind. From Nov 8-14, in honor of World Kindness Week, members can get ideas, long their kind actions, shout out kind acts and be inspired. The World Kindness Games are a free social game open to anyone who creates an account at the site.?
