Today is officially when the UK and further a field literally goes bonkers for
Red Nose Day. The 25-year old charity and movement Comic Relief (
founded in 1985) is building upon its online presence by providing digital and social assets to help people to digi-fy their efforts or support for RND.
The
digital tools for fundraisers include a number of backgrounds, badges, banners, desktop images, images and wallpapers that can be added to mobile phones, computers and used across social media. It also includes social media makeovers for Twitter, including a Twibbon, Pose with a Nose, Facebook and Twitter backgrounds.
All the money raised for Red Nose Day is spent by
Comic Relief to change lives across the UK and Africa. The whole day culminates with a night of television broadcast on the
BBC, featuring comedy, appearances from both celebrities, fundraising and supporters. To date, Comic Relief has raised over £800 million (approaching £900 million as mentioned on BBC Breakfast this morning) and works across 70 counties supporting 15,786 projects.
