20-Something Launches Website to Help Other 20-Somethings

WhatCollegeForgot.com, a website designed to help young professionals learn how to excel at life after college, celebrates its official launch. WhatCollegeForgot.com offers sound advice on topics such as how to find a mentor, how to choose car insurance, how to create a monthly budget, and many more. All content is written specifically for 20- and 30-somethings.

(PRWEB) -- WhatCollegeForgot.com celebrates its official launch! WhatCollegeForgot is a resource website with one goal - to help 20- and 30-something professionals figure out how to excel at things that college doesn't cover. University courses are great at teaching language, mathematics, public policy, and engineering, but topics like buying a first condo, managing a budget, studying for a graduate school exam, and discussing career development with a manager are often forgotten.

Site owner and 20-something Gale Bowman says, "I count myself as one of the many young professionals that WhatCollegeForgot.com aims to help. Over the past four years, I've met many challenges that I had to figure out on my own - how do I save money? How do I invest money? Do I need to completely re-vamp my college resume? Should I roll over my 401K after I get a new job? Even though I found a lot of information online, it was tough to figure out what was correct, sort of correct, or just plain wrong. I was also concerned that some of the advice I found might not be applicable to someone my age."

Bowman continues, "I realized that people like me need a trusted source of information for all of the practical things we need to learn and do well in order to succeed in the real world. Social media sites and blogs have really helped us connect with friends and even trusted strangers about a number of topics. My goal is for WhatCollegeForgot.com to be the primary destination for real world advice for and from 20- and 30-somethings."

Bowman spent eight months creating the plan for the site and worked with developer Steven Wanderski to bring the vision to life. WhatCollegeForgot.com currently offers over thirty articles easily navigable via an intuitive category system. The site offers a couple of cool features, including Wendy Lalli's column called "Dear WCF" where readers can ask any pressing questions they've been grappling with in the post-college world. Readers can also submit their own stories to WhatCollegeForgot.com if they're dying to share their experiences, struggles, or anecdotes about 20- and 30-something life.

What's next for WhatCollegeForgot.com? "Generating traffic!" says Bowman. "I am thrilled that the site is up, and I continue to add content several times a week. However, my current focus is figuring out how to promote the site and generate awareness among the target audience. So far, you can find the original WhatCollegeForgot commercial on YouTube, but there's much more to do to get others as excited about this information as I am!"
