Arguments Get Visual As SideTaker.com Adds Video

SideTaker.com logoJACKSONVILLE, Fla/PRNewswire/ -- SideTaker.com, a destination to settle arguments anonymously using the jury of the Internet, is adding the ability to post stories in video form. Users may now use their webcams to tell their side of each story, but will still have the option to remain anonymous by choosing either audio or text posting.

"Many have asked for it and while we like to give people options to add their sides, we needed to give each person involved in the story a way to still remain anonymous," explains Justin Marinos, founder of SideTaker.com. "Obviously the users adding video sides will not (remain anonymous). The second side, or the person fighting with the initiator of the story, can choose to add their response in either a text, audio, or video format."

Giving the audience only text-based facts as written by the argument participants allows them to be unbiased in their advice, comments, and decisions, which was the primary reason SideTaker.com had not implemented video in the past. "People are judged on their appearance first and foremost," Marinos says. "We still hope that though our users will now get a glimpse of who is actually posting the arguments, they won't pick a side based on looks or articulation. It's still about the facts of the arguments."

The tradeoff will be in the response. SideTaker expects its video sides to get a bigger reception because people would rather watch video or listen to audio than read text. Each story has an accompanying RSS feed but video sides will also be syndicated through YouTube, allowing for a larger audience to weigh in with their advice.

The ability to add video will begin the week of October 11th.
