More Than 125 PlayHaven Game Communities Claimed
In PlayHaven's First Six Weeks, Developers Rush to Grab Free In-Game
Community That Enhances Capabilities for Marketing iPhone Games
SAN MATEO, Calif/PRNewswire/ -- PlayHaven, an online
universe of fan communities for iPhone games, said today 136 iPhone
game communities have been claimed by game developers in the company's
first six weeks.
Developers can now easily claim their free game communities on
www.playhaven.com to start directly communicating with their fans,
while creating word-of-mouth buzz with iPhone gamers everywhere.
PlayHaven does what the iPhone App Store does not--create a connection
between game developers and their fans. Developers can now rely on
their passionate fans to be the rocket fuel that grows the popularity
of their games.
Independent game developers, who traditionally have few resources
allocated for marketing, benefit greatly by taking advantage of
PlayHaven's free services; developers now have the ability to market to
and communicate with their fans without the overhead costs of
traditional marketing campaigns.
"Having the ability to directly communicate with your customers is
an important aspect of any marketing campaign," said Raymond Lau,
co-founder and CEO of PlayHaven. "We empower iPhone developers to do so
by helping them establish a relationship with their fans. This has been
a critical factor of our success thus far."
Among the 136 games that are connected to PlayHaven's communities,
Minigore is notable for its rapid community growth. Minigore launched
Episode 3.0 on Dec. 2 with PlayHaven's in-game community and in just
two days, its community blossomed to over 1,000 members.
"Gaining access to more than 1,000 fans in 48 hours was a huge
accomplishment in our efforts to connect with our community," said
Kimmo Vihola, CEO of Mountain Sheep and developer of Minigore.
"PlayHaven's in-game community integration was the obvious next step
for us. You no longer need to go any further for everything Minigore;
it's all right there."
The titles on PlayHaven have collectively reached more than several
million iPhone users, many of which have occupied the top spot on
Apple's list of most popular games in the App Store.
