Meredith Launches MORE Magazine Brand
in Indonesia
Meredith Corporation (NYSE: MDP) announced today that it has
entered into a licensing agreement with Kompas Gramedia Magazine Group
to publish and distribute a local edition of MORE magazine
in Indonesia.
MORE Indonesia is expected to be available on newsstands
in July 2010. It will be published in the local language, Bahasa, and
initially be distributed throughout Indonesia?s major cities. Indonesia
has the world?s fourth-largest population.
MORE Indonesia is the third-licensed international edition
for the brand, which targets women and focuses on health, beauty,
fashion, and society. It was launched by Meredith in 1998, and its
current circulation in the United States is 1.3 million. MORE
is also published in Canada in both English and French under license
with Transcontinental Media.
Meredith media brands are currently distributed in nearly 60 countries
throughout the world. The licensed edition of MORE
Indonesia is the 20th licensed agreement for the company of
its popular media brands including Better Homes and Gardens
in Australia, China and India, and Parents in China,
Greece, Indonesia and Turkey among others.
?The launch of MORE in Indonesia is an important step in
our strategy to expand the reach of our industry-leading brands
internationally to meet growing consumer and advertiser demand,? said
John Zieser, Meredith?s Chief Development Officer. ?MORE's
expert content has a wide appeal to international audiences, and the
global advertising clients that want to reach them. We will continue to
look for similar alliances across the globe.?
?MORE has always had a global consciousness, whether it
was taking a look at women around the world turning 40 ? from France to
Afghanistan ? or to the current story about how global warming is
affecting women around the world ,? said Lesley Jane Seymour,
Editor-in-Chief, MORE. ?Today?s smart, savvy, stylish
women feel a connection to all their global sisters, so it?s no surprise
that MORE is the perfect magazine for women of style and
substance around the world.?
?The MORE brand fits nicely into and will enhance our
portfolio, and we believe it will inspire Indonesian women,? said Adrian
Sebastian Herlambang, Business Director of Kompas Gramedia Magazine
Group.
