iCopyright Appoints Andrew Elston CEO
SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire) - iCopyright
announced today that Andrew Elston
has been appointed CEO of the company. Elston, a 20-year information
industry veteran, has been with iCopyright for four years and most
recently
served as Vice President of Publisher Services. Elston replaces
iCopyright
founder Mike O'Donnell, who will be working independently on new
strategic
initiatives. O'Donnell will continue to serve on the company's board of
directors.
"I am excited to have the opportunity to take iCopyright to the next
level," said Elston. "iCopyright's licensing service has come a long way
since I first started using it as a publishing customer in 2001 at
Primedia. The role it plays in the digital content industry has become
more
important than ever. I am inheriting the best technology on the market
and
a world-class team of developers. My first priorities will be expanding
sales and working with our publisher clients to get the technology more
broadly deployed."
O'Donnell said "After more than a decade of building and evangelizing
the
iCopyright platform, I am looking forward to taking a break from the
day-to-day duties of running a company to focus on strategic
initiatives.
The next decade will bring even more dramatic changes to the digital
content industry than the previous decade. I want to explore the
opportunities those changes will bring, especially as they relate to new
applications for the iCopyright technology and developing new
technologies."
