Jamie Oliver Taps Digital Marketing Expert Zemoga to Encourage
Americans to Continue the Food Revolution
Leading Digital Innovation Firm Helps TED Prize Winner Jamie
Oliver
Bring Millions Together Through an Online Community to Drive the
Fight
against Obesity
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Zemoga,
an award-winning digital innovation and design firm, announced
today
that it lent its creative digital and social marketing expertise
to
launch a micro-site that transforms Jamie Oliver?s food revolution
into
a full-fledged grass-roots movement. Zemoga ? in just three weeks ?
designed, developed and launched the micro-site that empowers
consumers
with tools and information about the food revolution and enables
them to
spread the word via social networks.
?It?s been an honor to lend our digital expertise to help
Jamie fight
this health crisis that threatens our country and our children?
Upon signing Jamie?s online petition, site visitors will be taken
to the
micro-site, which provides information and resources enabling them
to
enact change in the following ways:
-
I want to shout out about flavored milk.
-
I want to cook with my kids.
-
I want to cook but don?t know how to start.
-
I want to create change in my local school.
-
I want to find out more about feeding my family better.
The site also allows visitors to engage with other individuals and
organizations via a new Food Revolution Community Facebook page,
which
currently has more than 23,000 followers.
Jamie Oliver won the prestigious 2010 TED Prize, an award given to
the
world's most influential "thinkers and doers," which have included
Bono,
Bill Clinton and Dave Eggers. In addition to receiving $100,000
for his
cause, the TED community granted Jamie a "wish to change the
world,"
which it pledges to help make a reality. As part of his wish to
enlighten people everywhere about the importance of healthy
eating,
Jamie asked for help from Web developers and social media experts
who
could create the tools to educate people and bring them together.
Inspired by his message, Zemoga stepped forward, and was selected
to
create the tools that would help support this movement.
?The support from the TED Community has been overwhelming. These
guys
run an innovative new media agency and have designed the first
major
community platform for America?s Food Revolution. It?s amazing
work,
guys,? says Jamie Oliver.
?It?s been an honor to lend our digital expertise to help Jamie
fight
this health crisis that threatens our country and our children,?
said DJ
Edgerton, CEO of Zemoga. ?Building the tools that will help
inspire
others to take action ? just as Jamie?s message has inspired us ?
is a
deeply rewarding experience.?

About TED
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading.
Started as a four-day conference in California 25 years
ago, TEDhas
grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple
initiatives.
At TED, the world's leading thinkers and doers are asked to give
the
talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Talks are then made available,
free,
at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane
Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Benoit
Mandelbrot,
Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and UK Prime
Minister Gordon Brown. Two major TED events are held each year:
The TED Conference takes place every spring in Long Beach,
California
(along with a simulcast, TEDActive, in Palm Springs), and
TEDGlobal is
held each summer in Oxford, UK. TED's media initiatives
include TED.com,
where new TEDTalks are posted daily, and the Open Translation
Project,
which provides English subtitles and interactive transcripts and
allows
any TEDTalk to be translated into any language by volunteers
worldwide. TEDhas established the annual TED Prize, where
exceptional
individuals win "one wish to change the world"; TEDx, which
supports
individuals and groups in hosting local, self-organized events
around
the world; and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing
innovators from around the globe to become part of
the TED community and
amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
