San Lucas Medical Adds New Interactive Web 2.0-based Distribution
Channel to Enhance Global Capabilities
Signs Exclusive 5-Year Agreement with U.S. Tech Startup Medikly to
Provide Physicians Instant Access to Medical Information and Educational
Content
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--San Lucas Medical Limited (www.sanlucasmedical.com),
the London-based print and online publisher of fifteen medical journals
throughout Europe and Asia, today announced its exclusive strategic
alliance and distribution partnership with Medikly, LLC (Medikly) (www.medikly.com),
a leading provider of social media and learning tools for the healthcare
space.
?We are thrilled with our partnership with SLM, said Dr. Venkat
Gullapalli, CEO of Jersey City-based Medikly. Combining their extensive
medical content and subscriber base with the Medikly platform, SLM can
now provide physicians access to medical information and content that
can drastically improve the care they provide their patients.?
Medikly?s content delivery and community-based platform will provide
verified physician users with tools to access the ?community mind?,
share and exchange knowledge with their peers, collaboratively learn
through conversations and access just-in-time education. In addition,
the platform will be used by MDSNe (pronounced ?med-syn?), a new branded
offering from SLM, to design and develop medical education programs,
reducing its overall development time and costs by as much as 75% when
compared to traditional formats and methods.
In Europe and Asia, access to medical knowledge is highly fragmented on
many levels ? from geography and language, to clinical approach and
capabilities, to communication and delivery. And with ever increasing
amounts of data being available, there is an increased need to provide
physicians with relevant and trusted content in real time, where and
when they need it. With its existing publishing footprint and an
audience of over 100,000 subscribers, SLM will leverage it?s new online
capabilities by bringing together like minds and diverse practices,
minimizing impediments of time, cost and distribution and providing
high-quality medical education to physicians.
San Lucas Medical Director and Executive Director of MDSNe, Seun Moses
Abimbola said, ?Being able to quickly reach and educate our physician
audience while cutting down program development time and cost was an
important consideration for us. We now have a platform that will extend
the SLM brand into new markets, allowing us to do things that we haven?t
been able to do before such as collaborating with leading medical
associations and organizations, designing and delivering unique
educational formats and curricula and translating how such education can
increase the medical knowledge, skills and competencies of participating
physicians.
The MDSNe platform is expected to launch fully operational at the start
of 2011.
