Mobli Harnesses the Power of Smartphones to Let Users See the World
Through Other People?s Eyes
Mobli Launches Real-Time Photo and Video Sharing Smartphone
Application and Website; Brings Together Communities Based on Shared
Interests and Locations
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mobli, a real-time visual media platform comprised of people, subject
and location-based channels, today announced the availability of its
iPhone application and the debut of its Website for people worldwide to
begin sharing their experiences via photos and videos with text.
?Mobli is like having a friend at every event or location you find
interesting, feeding you real-time, multimedia content?
Mobli capitalizes on the two greatest forms of interactive communication
today ? the Internet and smartphones ? to create an entirely new way for
people around the world to share their experiences. By leveraging the
power of photo, video and geo-location, Mobli creates a new approach to
social networking that shifts the focus away from the text and onto a
more visual, evocative and interactive experience. Further, Mobli
directs attention from the individual to the creation of interest-based
communities by tagging content according to channels, the person who
shared the content and geo-location of where the content was created.
This community approach, coupled with robust photo and video sharing
functionality, makes Mobli truly unique ? it shifts the focus from ?me?
to ?us.?
?Mobli is like having a friend at every event or location you find
interesting, feeding you real-time, multimedia content,? said Moshe
Hogeg, founder and CEO of Mobli. ?We created smartphone applications and
a Website that delivers the best of what social media was intended to be
by enabling people to bring experiences and events to life for others
with shared interests. At its essence, Mobli lets you watch real-time
channels created by your friends, family and other people wherever they
are.?
How Mobli Works
A User Channel is automatically created for people who sign up for Mobli
? this is where all of the content a user uploads to Mobli is
immediately posted. When uploading content to Mobli, users place other
category-specific tags on their posts, which will syndicate the content
to other relevant Subject Channels. Posts are also automatically
syndicated to Location Channels.
For example, if a user attends a concert and posts a photo or video from
their smartphone, it will be posted to:
-
Their individual channel;
-
The concert performer?s channel (by content tagging);
-
The concert venue channel (by geo-location tagging); and
-
Any other channels to which the user sees fit to tag it ? for example,
rock & roll, live music, celebrity, etc.
Once the photo/video is uploaded and tagged, it can be discovered by
other individuals who are interested in that performer, the venue or in
attending the concert, by browsing from their smartphone or from the
Mobli Website ? whether they know each other or not.
By creating channels that any person can view and contribute content to,
without having to be directly connected with one another, people now
have the ability to see photos, videos and other posts about topics of
interest to them, without the barriers typically in place on other
social networking sites.
Mobli includes many unique features such as retrospective geo-location
tagging, background uploading, the ability to navigate to any location
on Mobli within two clicks and finding interesting venues in real-time
around your current location.
Mobli was created in 2009, is backed by private investors and is based
in New York City with a R&D center in Tel Aviv. Mobli and the Mobli Logo
are among the trademarks of Mobli Media Inc. The Mobli app can be
downloaded from the Apple
App Store or you can create an account on the Mobli
Website.
