VANCOUVER/PRNewswire/ - Destiny Media Technologies (TSXV: DSY) (OTCQX: DSNY) is pleased to announce the release of an all new Play MPEŽ app for iPhone and iPod Touch (http://plaympe.com/iphone). Industry professionals who receive content through the Play MPEŽ system can access new broadcast quality pre-release music and music videos through installed applications on Windows and Macintosh, through any web browser and on iOS using the Play MPEŽ iPhone app.
The original version of the Play MPEŽ iPhone app was last updated in 2011 and is currently used by over 10% of our members. The new app is a complete rewrite and many of the features and improvements were compiled from user feedback. New features include a completely new and improved user interface, a streaming playlist, flags, themes, and offline playback. The account-wide flag and playlist features integrate seamlessly with users' access on the web and desktop, allowing a user to take an action on one device that appears on all their devices. When a user receives a promotional email from a label on a release, they can launch the app directly by clicking on the email.
The new iPhone app is the first in a series of Play MPEŽ mobile apps Destiny is developing. An app specifically designed for Android phones is expected in May, followed by apps for iPads, Blackberry phones and Android tablets. All apps are expected to be launched before the end of the fourth fiscal quarter.
