In honor of International Women?s History Month, Mujeres Destacadas, is a month-long editorial series, awards recognition and ceremonial awards luncheon honoring and celebrating thirty extraordinary women for their outstanding contributions at a volunteer or professional level in the categories of Community Leadership, Health, Education, Business/Technology and Arts & Culture. They are the unsung heroes of the Latino community who have dedicated themselves to making this a better world.
Throughout the month of March, profiles of each honoree published daily in La Opinión and appears in a dedicated microsite (www.laopinion.com/mujeresdestacadas) leading up to the Mujeres Destacadas Awards Luncheon. A compilation of the honorees published on March 28th in La Opinión where all 30 women were showcased and on March 31st in La Opinión Contigo which is delivered to over 255,000 Latino homes throughout LA. A pictorial double-page will publish on April 4th recapping the luncheon event in La Opinión.
Special guests for the event are Julie Stav, renowned author and financial expert who will keynote the luncheon and Gabriela Teissier of KMEX-Univision as Mistress of Ceremony.
