NEW HOPE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MeetMe, Inc. (NYSE MKT: MEET), the public market leader for social discovery, today announced that Jean Clifton has accepted a position on the company?s board of directors.

Since June 2012, Ms. Clifton has served as chief financial officer and executive vice president of Dial Global, Inc., a leading provider and distributor of audio content and live events to radio stations and other digital providers. In addition to her role with Dial Global, Ms. Clifton is a founder of Platinum Strategic Partners, LLC, an advisory services and investment company. From May 2008 to October 2010, Ms. Clifton served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Penton Media, Inc., a diversified multimedia B2B media and business services company, and then continued working with Wasserco and MidOcean Partners, owners of Penton, until Ms. Clifton started in her current position with Dial Global. Prior to that, she was senior vice president and chief financial officer of the Reader?s Digest Association, before which, she spent 20 years at Journal Register Company in various capacities, including chief financial officer, president and chief operating officer.
Ms. Clifton is also a board member for Summit Business Media, where she serves as audit chairperson and Compensation and Executive Committee member. Previously, she served on the boards of Ingersoll Publications Ltd. and Midland Newspapers, Ltd., Newspaper Association of America and Board of Trustees Newspaper Association of America Foundation, as well as two digital companies, AdOne and PowerAdz.com, which merged in 2011 to form PowerOne Media, Inc. in 2001. Ms. Clifton was also an advisor to Dainik Bhaskar Group, of India.
