Social Media Portal (SMP) supports B2B Marketing Summit, the dedicated conference for business-to-business marketers


London, UK ---- Social news and information site the Social Media Portal (SMP) is supporting the dedicated business-to-business event the B2B Marketing Summit.

Organised by B2B Marketing, the annual summit is to be held at The Brewery in central London on the 18 June 2013, focusing on the four themes of demand generation, inbound marketing, multi-channel marketing and social media. The summit has an agenda packed of best practice presentations and case studies from agencies and brands, allowing delegates to choose to a specific stream, or mix different sessions to match their needs.

The morning keynote entitled ?How to shine as a B2B marketer in 2013? from Paul Higgins, head of marketing and TalkTalk Business will provide an introduction to the day providing guidance and tips for B2B marketers for them to apply to their businesses.  Scot McKee, CEO from Birddog will deliver the afternoon keynote with a presentation entitled ?Social Content, Internal Engagement and Eggs? that will include reviewing how things are changing in the B2B marketing industry.

In an interview with SMP, Joel Harrison editorial and content director at B2B Marketing shared what he anticipated would be popular at the summit commenting, ?Feedback from the 2012 event was great ? it really hit the spot with marketers.  The aim for 2013 is bigger and better.?

?We have changed the stream titles to better reflect the current areas of interest in the market.  We?ve retained social media and demand generation, and have also added multi-channel marketing and inbound marketing.  We?ve also put in some keynote sessions, which everyone can attend at the beginning and end of the day, providing a real focal point for the sessions,? added Harrison.

Tim Gibbon, cofounder and editor at SMP comments, ?B2B marketing can wrongly be assumed to be stuffy, uninteresting and lacking innovation.  Things have certainly changed and there is great activity and campaigns, we should need to share them better so the B2B community as a whole can benefit.  The impact that marketing technology continues to make is huge and it?s no longer the case that marketers look to the B2C realm for inspiration when there are B2B great examples that marketers can learn from.?

?There will be opportunity to network with other delegates, guest speakers, peers and vendors throughout the day in addition to networking drinks until the early evening,? adds Gibbon.
