Worried About Mum and Dad Back in the UK?
LONDON/PRNewswire/ --
New technology connects UK expats to their ageing parents for daily updates
With many of us depending on our smart phones to check everything from our travel arrangements and finances to exercise performance and latest fashion choices, it seems natural that we should check in on loved ones with the latest app and on-line service.
A new company, 3rings.co.uk, has created a service which lets families know that their ageing loved ones back at home in the UK are okay each day.
The inspiration behind 3rings comes from the days before mobile phones, where the well-known 'code' to let someone know all was well was giving them three rings on the telephone. The new service updates this code for the internet generation.
Elderly parents or grandparents only require a landline to receive or make a daily call to the 3rings automated service which then automatically contacts an entire network of family and friends using an app, SMS, email or calls.
As someone who has frequently travelled on business, founder Steve Purdham knows the importance of checking in on family members. Inspired by his mum, Iris, 82 he explains: "When contending with long distances and different time zones, keeping in daily contact with family can be difficult, so we wanted to create a simple solution which answered the question, 'are my ageing mum and dad okay today?' 3rings is a simple and easy way of providing peace of mind which helps families feel better connected.
"3rings does not intend to replace that personal call or visit which is so appreciated but what it can be is a safety net, there for the times you can't be."
The service is available online at 3rings.co.uk with free apps for IOS and android. There are two paid-for services and a free trial available.
Notes to Editors.
Founded in 2013 by chairman, Steve Purdham and CEO, Gareth Reakes, both successful entrepreneurs, the inspiration for 3rings.co.uk came from Gareth's nan, Vera, and Steve's mum, Iris. 3rings hopes to provide a service that will change the future of family care for ageing loved ones.
