ARMONK, N.Y./
PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that John Considine, general manager for cloud infrastructure services, will present at the Open Networking User Group (ONUG) Spring 2017 meeting in San Francisco, California, on trends in cloud adoption.
Taking place April 25th-26th, the ONUG Spring 2017 event will focus on digital transformation and speakers will address changing IT organization and the strategic adaptations necessary to remain competitive in the software-defined, cloud-based era.
Cloud has evolved from a technological innovation to an integral part of business enablement. In 2012, only 34 percent of senior business leaders surveyed by the IBM Institute for Business Value said they had a solid plan for adopting cloud computing. However, in 2016, 78 percent of the executives surveyed describe their cloud initiatives as coordinated or fully integrated.
At the event, John will participate in a first of its kind discussion between the ONUG Open Hybrid Cloud Working Group and executives from the top cloud service providers. Members of the working group will begin by outlining the requirements necessary to overcome obstacles in moving enterprise workload to the public cloud. Subsequently, John will present on how IBM Cloud can address these obstacles and enable enterprises to use cloud to take advantage of emerging technologies including cognitive, blockchain and IoT to generate value from big data.
John's presentation will take place on Wednesday, April 26th at 11:30 a.m. PT. For more information on the Open Networking User Group, visit http://opennetworkingusergroup.com/.
